The UNB Robotics Competition is an opportunity for students to build a robot to perform a specific task. This task will be revealed to the teams the night before the competition, making this competition fun and challenging for the competitors. Only having twelve hours to build a robot to complete the specified task not only requires the teams to think quickly on their feet but also encourages teamwork amongst them.
Every team will be given a basic set of parts and tools. They will also have access to an assortment of other varied parts. The teams will then be given a chance to brainstorm on how to solve the problem over the first night, with construction beginning the next morning.
Prizes will be given out for first and second place in the head to head competitions. To promote creativity and originality amongst the teams, there will also be various awards for creativity and design.
