HOW TO APPLY (undergraduate) The admission procedure to undergraduate programs in the School of Music is a two-step process. 1. Submit an application to Penn State. You may contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions for an application or you may apply using the Interactive Web application at: www.admissions.psu.edu. Applications are also available in guidance offices of Pennsylvania high schools. You are strongly urged to submit your application prior to November 30. Note: there is no separate music application. Schedule an audition with the School of Music by completing the online form. Other audition arrangements may be made with the School of Music. Due to enrollment limitations, applicants are encouraged to audition by February 27. In certain cases, permission may be granted to send a recorded audition. Click here for information. In addition to the performance audition, candidates are assessed regarding their level of musicianship and are informally interviewed by the faculty. Offers of admission are made only after submission and approval of a University application and the performance of a successful audition, usually by March 15.
