GENERAL INFORMATION 1.1 The First Rachmaninoff International Vocal Competition will take place in Santa Barbara,California, from June 14 – 21, 2009.There will be two divisions: Female Division & Male Division. 1.2 The competition is open, regardless of nationality, to women born in 1979 or later and men born in 1976 or later.Only 24 competitors will be selected to participate in the competition (a total of 12 men and 12 women). 1.3 The application postmark deadline is April 10, 2009.Use the official application form, if available. The form may be duplicated. When forwarding application; applicants are advised to make sure their entry is sent by AIR MAIL as those sent by regular mail take as long as two months to arrive. 1.4 Applicants for this competition undertake to abide by the competition rules, the regulations on performance and the decisions of the Jury, and to refrain from all professional engagements or duties during the competition. Any competitor who fails to abide by these rules and regulationsmay be disqualified fromthe competition
